The Cortical Lamina Technique: Present and Future of 3D Ridge Augmentation

Ridge defects are quite common problems in the dental practice and guided bone regeneration techniques have shown throughout the years flashes of light but also many shadows. This presentation will introduce a new product that has been used in Europe in the past decade: the Cortical Lamina. This new bio-material is made in different shapes and sizes and can very well adjust to both horizontal and vertical defects.

This presentation will show the application of the different available options, review the current literature on the topic and demonstrate clinically and histologically the results obtained. The presentation will also show what happens and how to manage complications related to this technique.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand how the Coritical Lamina technique allows the clinicians to treat 2D and 3D bony defects with its versatility.
  2. Learn how to diagnose, select and treat cases from moderate to severe bone loss with such new biomaterial.
