Immediate Implant Placement and Ridge Preservation in Esthetic Area

 
This clinical and research based presentation will focus on the advantages and disadvantages of esthetic zone extraction site management options that include socket grafting and delayed implant placement vs. immediate implant placement and provisionalization. The indications, contraindications, and complications of each protocol will be featured in detail. The most up to date studies will be presented to validate the use of each approach.

• Understand the biology, scientific background and clinical application of immediate implant placement and provisionalization in the esthetic zone
• Understand the complications of both delayed and immediate implant placement in the esthetic zone

 

Prof. Giuseppe Cardaropoli DDS, PhD
Is Associate Professor Education Minister of Italy. He was the Head of the Periodontology Unit and Director of Research in Periodontology at San Raffaele University Milan. Also Associate Professor (Habilitation), Professor at Dental, Medical and Hygienist School Programs at San Raffaele University Milan.

Additionally, Prof. Cardaropoli is a former Director of Implantology of the Department of Periodontics UMDNJ, New Jersey Dental School and Director of Clinical Research Center at UMDNJ, New Jersey Dental School. He was Assistant Professor in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and Director of Experimental Research in the Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry.

He holds the Speciality (EFP recognized) and the Ph.D. in Periodontology from Göteborg University, Sweden (mentors: Prof. Jan Lindhe and Prof. Jan Wennström). Previously was Researcher at the Department of Periodontology at Göteborg University and Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontology at University of Siena.

The expertise of Dr. Cardaropoli is related to Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and in particular pre-clinical and clinical research regarding Wound Healing, Management of Extraction Socket, Immediate and Delay Implant Placement, Ridge Preservation, Aesthetic in Periodontology and Implantology, Periodontal and Bone Regeneration, Surgery in Periodontology, Biomaterials, Orthodontic & Periodontics, Peri-implantitis.

Dr. Cardaropoli is Associate Editor of JPMCP, he is member of the Editorial Board of several peer review scientific journals (COIR, CIDRR, JP, JIACD) and Reviewer of JCP, IJOMI, Blackwell Munksgaard, JBMR. Dr. Cardaropoli is EFP, SIDP, AAP, SIO, AO active member and member of numerous international scientific associations. He is member of the Editorial Committee of SIO. Dr. Cardaropoli is an Associate Fellow of the Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation (FOR).

Dr. Cardaropoli published several well cited original papers in International Peer Review Journals and Lectures worldwide on the subjects of Implant Dentistry and Periodontology.
